We also advise on issues concerning employment and regulatory compliance matters (working with local counsel where necessary).

We have experience of acting for and against major international household names in the industry and we pride ourselves in seeking to achieve a commercial resolution to any issue at the earliest possible stage.

Our lawyers’ notable matters include:

  • Successfully advising (working with Thai counsel) a Thai company who owns a large luxury resort in Phuket Thailand, in an ICC arbitration against a US based major international hotel operator. ICC Rules: Singapore seat.
  • Successfully advising a Thai based consultant in respect of an ICC arbitration in respect of the acquisition of a Thai hospitality and leisure company. ICC Rules: Singapore seat.
  • Acting for international insurers and reinsurers in respect of property damage and business interruption claims arising out of damage to hotels and resorts resulting from the Asia tsunami of December 2004: UNCITRAL Rules: Sri Lanka, Maldives, Thailand and Singapore seat.
  • Acting for an NYSE listed international hotel and gaming operator in respect of the design of an iconic hotel and integrated resort in Singapore in a SIAC arbitration. SIAC Rules: Singapore seat.
